Inside the Can Episode 10: “Doc, the line feed in my weed whacker sticks. What can I do?”
Weed whacker line not feeding correctly? Liquid Wrench Dry Lube might be just what you need. Liquid Wrench Dry Lube will lubricate the line, but it won’t pick up dust and dirt which is often part of the problem.
Open up the weed whacker (take the nut off and loosen the spool) then spray the line and the spool liberally inside and out with Liquid Wrench Dry Lube. Reassemble and the line will feed perfectly.
Wondering where else you can use Dry Lube for? Here are a few tips:
-Lubricant goes on wet, dries to a white powder.
-Perfect for applications where you don’t want an oily surface that can attract dust or dirt.
-Formula doesn’t leave odor and won’t stain
-Great for use on interior door hinges, drawer glides, sliding glass doors, window frames, folding knives, locks, ignition systems, cabinet hardware.

Sears lawn & garden tech’s need to know about this for steering gears and other moveable dry lube parts in lawn tractors and other equipment.
Thanks

Absolutely, Barry. Dry Lube is great on lawn tractors and, as you’ve noted, is applicable in a ton of situations. Thanks for joining the conversation. Great to have your expertise on Tinkernation!
This would have saved me a lot of pain and several weed eater heads if I’d known about it a few years ago. Speaking of which, the problem with the heads that you have to ‘tap’ on the ground to feed is that they lend themselves to frustration relief far too easily.
Folding Knives, hooray!
